Amazon Affiliate Links on Pinterest 2021
Yes, you can pin Amazon affiliate links on Pinterest. There are a few things you need to do first to make sure you are following their guidelines. They are super simple and it will be a great way to earn money on Pinterest.
Basically, you can pin an image on Pinterest with the link but no one else can go to your site and pin that pin. Repins are ok from the original pin.
I will go into detail for each step and also supply screenshots from Amazon with the information for reference. I am not a copyright lawyer so make sure to do your own research or message Amazon associates if you want to ask any questions or confirm.
How to Pin Amazon Affiliate Links on Pinterest
First, obviously, you have to have an associate account already set up to pin Amazon affiliate links. Then I suggest creating a unique tracking number for Pinterest pins or for each pin. Google tracking ids for how to do that it’s super simple.
How to pin Amazon Affiliate Links on Pinterest
- create post or page with Amazon products (you can use Amazon product photos on your site but not Pinterest)
- upload a photo of your own on your website that relates or shows the product and add no pin attribute
- Pin that image and that image alone to Pinterest and paste the affiliate link in the link box
Using Amazon Product Photos on Your Site
Amazon allows you to use product photos in multiple ways. You can use the image code from stripe or their API codes.
Product imagery can be accessed through Associates Central at no cost. Search or browse for products in the Quick Links or Browse for Product sections of the Associates Central homepage, enter keywords or product numbers into the search box on the Product Links page, and use the search functions or Get Banner buttons on the Promotions pages to access link-building options that enable you to generate HTML-based images.
Grab image codes right from product pages by clicking “Image” in the SiteStripe toolbar or go all-in and implement the Product Advertising API. The API is an advanced option offering programmatic access and image URLs to qualified associates. See if you are eligible to access PA API hereAmazon Associates
How to Add No Pin to Amazon Affiliate Photo
According to Amazon they only want you to be able to pin the link with a photo to your Pinterest and no one else. That means no one else can go to your site and manually add or use a scheduler to add the photo with the link to their own Pinterest account.
To make sure they can’t repin that photo you have to code it with a no pin code. It’s simple to do on wordpress. This code:
<img src = “foo.jpg” nopin = “nopin” />

Below is the screenshot from Amazon associates to confirm this. I wanted to make sure I had it right before writing this post. I have heard others tell people that it’s ok to add the links straight to Pinterest when tagging items please do not do this it will get you suspended from the program.
How to Make Money on Pinterest 2021
Besides Amazon links on Pinterest, you can use other links and photos directly with other affiliate programs. Rewards style and shop style are two but make sure you follow their guidelines as well.
The number one way I suggest making more affiliate money on Pinterest is by tagging items from a pin that lead viewers directly to a shoppable item. There are pros and cons to this depending on what niche you are in.
If you are a blogger then it might not be the best fit because you are sending them straight to the shoppable link and may miss any ad revenue if they visit your site or an email sign-up.
If you are an ecommerce store then this is definitely something you want to do!
Buyable pins and shoppable pins are two different things. Shopify or other eCommerce shops can add their catalogs and be found in the shop tabs now. This is separate and is for product tagging without a catalog. To see the full tutorial on the product tagging on a pin click the button below!
Pinterest Affiliate Marketing – Make Money on Pinterest in 2021
I hope that clears up how to pin Amazon affiliate links on your Pinterest and tagging is going to also make it much easier to make some more money on Pinterest as well.
Please keep in mind that Pinterest wants people to shop on the platform and they are more interested in user intent than you make more money. Don’t just link to nonrelated items or be spammy!
